With it being National Infertility Awareness Week (NIAW), I thought I would share a story with you. Three years ago this week, we started our 2nd battle of fertility treatments, our first FET, but I had no idea it was NIAW! It was our huge public festival on Saturday so, I was in work week hell! But of course AF showed up.
Now, prior to this, Andre and I had decided to give this round a go without telling anyone. So, I called the doctor, and she advised us to come in as soon as our cycle started, for an ultrasound and bloodwork.
Remember I was in work week hell?! Well, I had to make an excuse to leave one of the busiest days, to head to the doctor in gross clothes (from being outside all day) and get my tests done. Everything looked great and we were moving on to our FET (that story soon). But we were scared and anxious.
Looking back, I wish I would have known it was NIAW, maybe I would have had courage to not be silent. I could have shared my story and helped someone or maybe someone could have helped us.
As we kick off this week, we challenge you to break your silence and share your story. And those that may know someone battling infertility…#ListenUp!
Send us an email, firstname.lastname@example.org, if you would like to be featured on our Stories of Hope page.
We need to stand together and not be silent. Lets make our voice loud and clear.
