A dear friend sent me a text this morning saying-
“You HAVE to listen to this song…it needs to be your battle cry…”
Of course, I stopped everything I was doing and immediately listened to it. Dissecting every word, I sat there quiet. I found myself escaping my cluttered mind, resting in the lyrics.
“This is my confidence, You never failed me yet.
I’ve seen You move, You move the mountains And I believe, I’ll see You do it again.
You made a way, where there was no way. And I believe, I’ll see You do it again.”
-Do It Again~ Elevation Church
In that moment, I agreed. I said, Yes! I believed. I felt peace over my body, almost like a warm blanket laid over me.
But then the song ends. I got sucked back to my everyday routine. How do you make that peace last? That cozy blanket that envelopes you in those moments of Grace.
I choose. Every single second, we are faced with unending choices. Most are mundane boring daily choices. Like coffee or tea, a salad or sandwich, this show or that one. But then sometimes we are faced with choices that can dictate our environment, our mental and physical environments. Will I move in confidence or worry? Will I be anxious about the unknown or hopeful for the unseen? I choose hope, I choose joy, I choose to move forward, in those moments when I want to throw my arms up in surrender.
But then I realize, the position of surrender is exactly where I’m supposed to be!! I choose to surrender to my own understanding, and rest under that cozy blanket of Grace.
