Grace. What does that even mean?
Well, according to the Merriam-Webster’s dictionary::
a : unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification
b : a virtue coming from God
c : a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine assistance
What I found so interesting when I looked it up; was that the word, Grace, is in the top 1% of looked up words. What does that show me? A lot of people are looking for Grace, and wondering how they receive it exactly. Cool thing is, we just have to ask for it!
I find myself saying out loud throughout my day…”Let’s give him some Grace,” “I need Grace to…,” “Your Grace is sufficient”…(my favorite scripture by the way!). But most of the time, when I am begging for Grace, I am talking to my 3 year old haha. I am being real here y’all! Some days, there isn’t enough Grace in a Momma to make it through the day…well, so we think! But then some days, that’s all that gets us Mommas through the day.
You know what’s awesome though? My 3 year old, does not even realize momma is losing it inside (most of the time). He still thinks I am the best ever and he knows I will give him everything he needs or spoil him in moments he needs it 🙂
Yesterday, in one of my “Momma needs some Grace” moments, he looks up at me and says, “Momma, what is Grace and why do you need it?” I wanted to say:: I need Grace because a certain little boy will not listen to his momma and pick up his toys:: But instead, I said, “Grace is when God gives Momma extra energy and love when she needs it.” His reply?!? “So like, coffee and a hug?”
Yes, it’s just like coffee and a hug!
Today I wish you Grace in situations that seem impossible or even just the daily tasks that can seem like you could use a divine dose of caffeinated hugs…
